Unique Challenges: No new development had occurred in Hollywood Beach in over 40 years. The project was surrounded by low-end, high-density old product. Ocean Palms needed to create a vision for a new destination not previously accepted for luxury residential living. The project launch was scheduled soon after the 9/11 attacks, and the kickoff event was canceled due to the beginning of the Iraq War in late March 2002. With uncertainty in the country regarding our international activities, much skepticism surrounded the future success of the project.
